Need advice on fixing seats!!!!!!!!
Has anyone repaired a large hole in their vinyl seats?
I need advice on materials used and where to find them?
Can you dye cloth? Will vinyl paint look good? Will any dye end up on my clothes on a hot summer day? How long to cure/set?
Thanks in advance, Les :D

Ed T had some informative info awhile back on fixing holes/tears in seats. Let me see if I can find the link.
OK here it is (actually two posts)

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Thanks, I checked out the posts and am wondering if that technique will fix large holes? ...about 3"x6"???
What about dye? Will the dye come off on my clothes?
:D

Re: Need advice on fixing seats!!!!!!!! (LemansBlue68)
I just repaired a seam that was coming apart on my 2 year old "leather like" seats. Removed the necessary hog rings so the seam was exposed and reinforced the seam using a small strip of canvas attached using a product called Seam Mender. This stuff is amazing! It's a latex based contact cement and only works with porous material so the cloth backed vinyl was a perfect material. I tested it first with 2 pieces of canvas and could not pull them apart after setting up over night. So far it shows now signs of coming apart. This might work on the suface but the tear edges would still probably show. Just a thought. Good luck!
