I have to put one side up as far as my jack will go this is because of the angle the header has to go in on.
The collecter has to point almost all the way down so I am assuming three feet is the longest section of the header ( ie from the flange in front of the first pipe to the end of the collector)
You still don't really need 3 feet because you can slide them under the car on an angle and then tilt them up when they are in the right place. Instructions these days always gieve you the worst case situation to cover the manufacturers ****, like they tell you Hooker headers won't fit certain heads, period but you can make a small ding or use shorty plugs and there is no problem gettnig them to fit. They have to protect themselves against the retard that couldn't fabricatte a balloon doggy :D
