Default splitting the calipers

How do I do it. I took out the bolts but I couldn't seperate the caliper. I banged on them pretty hard with no luck. Is there a trick. I need to hone them because they are leaking.

If these calipers have never had Stainless steel sleeves you are wasting your time. Trade them in on a set of SS calipers. The C3 Corevette calipers all rusted on the inside. The only fix is to get them sleeved. If they have already been sleeved and are leaking you need to get new seals and just clean the SS sleeves. I would not hone them. The SS sleeves should not rust or pit. Hope this helps. A lot of the vendors here have SS calipers. Check them out.

You're trying to split the caliper halves? Once you take out the two bolts it should pretty much fall apart. The parts only surface mate. There is no flange or anything else that even seawater could rust them together.

Weird ... unless someone painted them in half, then bolted them together.
I guess I would try to get a thin screwdriver to wedge between them,
but that is just me. A little heat might help, but make sure they are fully
emptied and keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
