Default Re: Checking for interest in a Steeroids group purchase (lilgto)

lilgto, I don't have any specific information on Hedman sidepipes but if they look like the Hookers (if the bend pattern is like the photo I posted) then they should fit). Again, if you really want specifics we can compare a few measurements to be sure.

Cali and 73vert, I will admit that sometimes it can be difficult to adjust the steering shaft to get zero binding but it is not impossible. Sometimes it takes time and patience and maybe a call to tech support. To my knowledge we have always been able to get the binding adjusted out of the system. We have also improved our instructions in order to facilitate installation.

As stated in the opening post the GP rate is $1018 including shipping.

big632, Here is a photo of the Stahl modification.

camaroneil, I expect the GP to begin by next week so we can certainly get a unit to Houston by the end or the month. I'll add you to the list.

SharkPilot, as I stated previously we have never found it impossible to adjust all the binding out. So let me emphasize that if anyone encounters an adjustment problem that they can't solve then give us a call. Usually it is a problem we have encountered before and we know what to do about it. Most of the time if the steering column needs to be moved it is to one side rather than back. Keep in mind this is all within the factory steering column adjustments (not some custom hack job).

:iagree: I was able to get the binding out of my system with a quick call to tech support . . . which was available after 5 pm! The install was completed in a single day.

Finally turned my Steeroids system for the first time this morning. Very cool. System went on pretty much without a hitch. Had some issues with binding, but definitely worth the $$$ so far.

BTW, I have Hooker Competition 1 3/4" full-length headers on my '82 and the shafts didn't even come close to touching.

I have the StainlessWorks side-exit headers - I could not find any way to make the Steeroids shaft fit through these. I'll probably be trying to sell mine (at a loss) as I gave up and went back to steering box...

camaroneil, do you have a digital photo of the driver’s side header? Is it for a small block? Overall we have had very few difficulties with small block headers fitting.

blackbetty, if we can get 5 to 10 to participate then we can start the group purchase.

sting74, we can do that, no problem. I'll add you to the list!

big632, do you have an e-mail address for them?

SuprJames, thanks for the info.

Rbbmoose427, I'm sorry to hear that your headers don't work. Do you have some pictures of your headers that you could send us? It would be useful to us as a reference. Also, do you know the part number? Is this on a big block? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Glad to see there are some other folks who want to keep this thread alive. Is 10 buyers a hard number, or are you going to set a deadline and just go with what we've got even if we're a few short?

Looking forward to turning some wrenches on this pretty soon....

You can add me onto that list too. I know Captain Morgan was interested in getting some when the next GP rolled around. Hopefully he'll see this thread too.

Having 10 buyers is not a hard number. We can be flexible with it. A couple more signing up would be good. There is certainly a lot of interest. We just need to get a few that are thinking about it to commit. I think we will probably have everything lined up by early next week.

88'Cubka, the GP will probably start on the 13th (Tuesday) and go to the end of the month. Is that enough time for you?

lostpatrolman, as stated above the GP should go to the end of the month but we can be flexible on that. What do you need?

barkingowl, you're on the list now! Thanks for joining in on the fun.
