What's the maximum capacity of the metal fuel lines on a C3??
For example - would they flow enough fuel for a 700 HP engine or would they need to be replaced with larger ones in order to feed such engine??
If you are going to run in it in exactly the same location it can be a struggle. The 3/8 line is a pain to get in with the body on the frame. If you are going to run a custom line (which would be my choice) you don't have to run it through all the difficult places. I helped my brother in law do this to his Camaro and it was not to bad to do. He is running 600+ HP and the engine builder said a 1/2 line was mandatory if he did not want it to lean out on the top end. So far he has had no issues of fuel starvation.

I just want the fuel line to be legal at the track... I don't really care how it's routed as long as it's save and legal at the track...
Olivier I'm going to run -8 fuel hose to feed my new engine. I would say if it's a high pressure like EFI that's pushed then a stock 3/8 may work, but if it's being pulled, then the larger line is a good idea to prevent the fuel from stalling in the line during a hard acceleration (hence the 700hp ;) ).
Stock 3/8 th`s is good enough for anything up to a blower.
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:
Jup, if The General woulda thought the L-88's and the ZL-1 needed 1/2" fuel lines, they woulda had them....
I would run with the 3/8 line, and if you find out that you need a 1/2" line, just spend a Saturday changing. Maybe even less, if you don't try to bend the lines per factory configuration.
Never pulled my Vette tank but thought about it. Isn't the pickup 3/8" also? If so, how did you guys work around it? 1/2" line would be of no help if it wasn't 1/2" all the way to the fuel.

Thats exactly correct.
The quote above about the L88`s and ZL1`s plus the LS7 is also on the money. :iagree: and since the 502`s and up dont have L88`s power no need there either. With a blower, more likely than not the whole fuel induction system would be changed as it would require several lines and 1/2 out of the tank fittings would already be built in.
 Damn I misspelled 'built', now its correct. dumb fingers I guess, not my mind though
I run 4 dcoe side draft weber dual throat carbs on a moon cross ram . I monitor fuel pressure at the first and last carb with digital and analog gauges. I also run a haltech afr unit with dual 02 sensors that is extremely responsive and I have never seen a problem with pressure or leanout while making power . I run a 3/8 feed line !
