 Has anyone ran across a source for a replacement jack for a 76 (or equal) that would be under $100 ?I also need a jack handle. :mad Previous owner sold anything not bolted down and some items that where bolted down including jack, handle and the spare tire! At least he kept the t-tops...
Re: Cheap replacement jack and handle ? (RedShark76)
Try a junkyard. There are some vette wreckers up your way.
Bundle up a whole bunch of the other little pieces inlcuding the jack and handle and offer him $100.
If you cannot get a vette jack go to walmart and buy a hydraulic jack for $30. It will do a better job anyway. Also get a breaker bar and a 3/4 socket (long). That should cover you for a spare. (check the scoket size if you have alloy wheels).
Re: Cheap replacement jack and handle ? (RedShark76)
I bought a new replacement jack from Volunteer Products. They are the same size as the original jack, and I think they go for around $50 or so. The handle is included and built into the unit.

I bought the same jack ron71 is talking about...it`s 29 bucks from Volunteer Vette and it fits nicely in the jack compartment like the original...Of course its Chinese quality
Re: Cheap replacement jack and handle ? (RedShark76)
I believe I may still have the original scissors jack from my '76 kicking around. LMK if you want it and I'll check for sure. (And I guarantee it won't cost you $100, either.)

Thanks Guys
Did'nt realize all the options available.
Trying e-bay first for an original.
Then to Volunteer for a replacement. Can't beat $29. How does that one look, and can the original spring clip hold it in. Trying to stay as close to OEM as I can afford to.
