After two Comp failures, I am going with the Crane HR276 retro roller setup. So far, I have the Camponents kit, this has everything but the cam. Includes springs, retainers, pushrods, lifters, and some other misc stuff. Good deal at $550. Shop is installing the new springs this week. I am following this thread right now to see if I should swap to a melonized gear for the dist or not. :smash:
So crane has a kit that includes everything? Thats great where did you get it? Do you have a part number?
I know the zz4 hot cam cam I'm looking at requires a melonized distributor.
The cran cam I have has a pressed on iron gear so no need to change the dist gear. You can get a crane cam with the same or similar specs with the pressed on iron gear. I have the same cam GM is putting in their ZZ383 eng. Here is a good article on roller cams:

Tony,
The Crane Camponents kit is part #11307. This works for most of their retrofit hydroller cams. Includes springs, retainers, keepers, stem seals, lifters, pushrods (right length for retrofit), fuel pump pushrod, cam button, cam bolt kit and lock. I got it from Jegs for $551.99 . If I remember correctly, the lifters, pushrods, and guel pump rod were about $450 individually. So, for a little more, I got the correct springs and all the hardware for them.
Now, I just need to get the cam and a few other parts.
