Now lets put two other myths to rest:
1.) Big cams are BAD BAD BAD, you will be overcammed with anything over 210 duration! You won't have brakes, you won't have any low range power!
2.) Anything over 9.8 compression is not streetable! You will need jet fuel! You will destroy your engine!

It's all about proper tuning and properly matched engines.

MYTHBUSTER! Cool, can I play?:

1. 400 small black Chevys are, "prone to overheating."
2. You can't use a single-plane manifold for street driving.
3. Compression ratios of more than 9.5:1 are impossible with iron heads and today's gasoline.
4. Every problem you have can be solved by buying a product. If the product doesn't cure the problem it's because you installed it/set it up wrong.

I have a GM create ZZ4 385hp w/alum Vortec heads. GM recommends a Holly 750 cfm double pumper. Mine is with mechanical secondaries. It was running rich at high RPM's. Leand out the secondaries. Did a plug check. All is GOOD!! I think I went down 3 sizes. My secondaries came with 80's installed. :seeya

Are you listening Barry Grant and Holley? Beer is much less expensive than salaries and medical insurance plans that both of you pay to your seemingly disgruntled tech support guys now! And one side benefit, (at least for Holley tech) Lars has no strong southern accent! One can actually understand what hes says! Now, I don't know how that voice sounds after a couple of hours and cases of beer with the c.c.c. - Now- THAT could be another story all together!

Lars, I'll send Barry Grant a letter requesting your employment and immediate road-trip, if you promise to come back to San Antonio. I was at a funeral last time you came down. :cry

JRODVETTE- No choke is true! It just takes 2-3 pumps and runs alitlle rough for the first couple minutes, but, not too bad! I do not drive mine that much in the winter so a choke is not a big deal to me-

Personally, I think BG should hire me as their spokesman and tech advisor
A good first step would be to get ahold of Don Gould at http://www.4secondsflat.com/
While this is a Mopar site, Don has worked hand in hand with BG promoting their products for some time now. I think everyone here could learn something from Don.
