MORE PICS... Radiator this time...
Okay... these are pics of my radiator DIY fix. I purchased a 1982 smashed support (hit and bent at top) for $38 on ebay. My 70 support was beyond saving... or was it....
This is the good side of the 70 support...
Attempted weld.... not good! This is my first welding project... it is actually really fun to weld...
This one is my home made radiator support welding jig. Cost me $2.35 @ Lowes....
A little extra to mess around with fitment...
TADA... it's done. Now to all of you master welders.... this is my first time... so go easy.... I think with practice... I will get the nickel thing going... hee hee
All total cost.... $38 for smashed support, $2.35 for my jig and some time reading how to weld and some time having fun. Oh yeah... keep your mouth closed when welding... that stuff tastes nasty.... :steering:

I replaced the bottom of mine. I know how you feel trying to weld the thin rusty remains. I had to cut much away.
Before...

After - upsidedown in the nose:
I got the welder from Northern Tools on sale for $350. I guess you could add this to the cost of the repair.. but I will use this welder forever. I did my own exhaust work and also repaired my rusty windshield frame... All in all, it was a really good deal! I may even make a roll bar hoop set up..... :skep:
