I have been toying with replacing the inner reflector/back up lights with some outer brake/taillights but I think the bubbles are horrid

Re: Bubble Tail Lights Question (Markm10431)
Ditto...previous owner had put them on mine. They were promptly removed- still have them if anyone wants them.
Now I gotta figure out how to rewire the taillights/backups....

If all four of your tailights are red and work together (4 break lights & 2 turn signals each). I may have your solution.

Re: Bubble Tail Lights Question (Fevre)
To each his own....I like them. I have a rear bumper off of an 81, so I needed the entire kit, rather than just the lenses. Eckler's sells the kit for around $80. I picked up a couple sets off of eBay for $40. I also added a sequential turn signal kit, so when I put on the turn signal, the inside light lights first, then the outside light....just like the Cougars/T-birds from the 60's.

What is horrid is paying $200 for 4 peices of plastic (originals).
I have em and like em.

I remember seeing of them on a dark blue car here on the forum, and they looked fantastic. I dunno if they'd go well on all C3s.

Re: Bubble Tail Lights Question (81' Corvette Guy)
I have a set of the bubble lamps kit from Ecklers for 80 bucks installed in my '79. I love them. I think they look way nicer than the old style and they are brighter and easier to see, making it safer for them idiots behind you!

Re: Bubble Tail Lights Question (DMONSVETTE)
Gotta be honest... I do not like the BUBBLE look. BUT they look AWESOME on "DMONSVETTE". I guess that's where they look good, on the '74 on up Vettes.

If the bubble look is not to your liking you can go four brake/tail with stock units.

I have 'em on mine. Like the way they look and the extra visibility they give people behind me.
I don't give a chit what anyone else thinks about them either. :p:

That's what I did.. I changed the reverse light assemblies and now I have 4 taillights and 2 turnsignals when activated. Using the GM lenses.

I have them on my 81` and the look great and it's yellow. I did a writeup awhile back on installing the Eckler's kit.
