Default Casting numbers and questionabout TPI

I wrote down the casting numbers on my engine today just for grins, can anyone tell me about them?
The number on the back of the block is: 3970010
on the front of the block, passenger side: E3314 9 5(?)
Head casting number: 3927186

Engine is supposed to be the L46 (350/350)

Second question:
I have a line on a TPI off a L98. The upper/lower intake, throttle body, computer, wiring harness, fuel injectors, fuel rails, HEI distrubtor, egr. Would this work on my block and heads? I heard that I might need to modify the intake center bolt holes to make it fit. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance

Yes, you can drill an angle into the manifold to get it to fit. Or you can get an '85 manifold that will bolt right up.

The head casting # was used on the 350/300 & 350/350. The 3970010 block in 1969 was used on the 300 hp & 350 hp engines. It was also useD in many other years in varying cubic inch sizes. If your engine is a 350/350 it should have one of the following codes stamped on the pad on passenger side. GC,GD,HW,HX.

I think it's GC, it's very faint. Is that all there is supposed to be on the stamp pad? GCE3314 9 5? Or should there be more?

On further research, I wonder if it is a CE block? It certainly looks like CE3314 9 5

As an example the code should be something like V010HY. The letters come at the end of the numbers. If CE is followed by a number then it propably is a replacement block.

You can find the flow numbers for the '186 castings on this website:

They have 2.02/1.60 valves.

Steve- thats all there is on the stamp pad. I think it is a replacement block, which is fine, I was gonna modify it anyway :D

Thanks for the links everyone, very informative!

Nothing wrong with modifying. Some are into original matching numbers, me, I like modified. :D Have fun with it.
