My plan exactly. I have access to 16" race eagles that are used enough that they are no longer good for out and out road racing, but fine for my purposes (weekend club events). Also, I can reduce my unsprung weight with alloy wheels compared to the stock 15" rallyes. Just make sure they have the same (41/2") offset. Actual total diameter will be less in my case, thus also lowering the CG of the car.

I have 16" rims and if you want street (DOT) tires in a significant idth (over 275) you will have a real hard time finding them. I am forced to run hoosier Pro street radials...not that I mind but the price tag is a bit on the high side.
