Default Rear Glass Trim

Could someone give some advice on how to remove the metal trim around the rear glass on my 80. I would like to clean it up and repaint it. I see there is a little slide clip joining the two pieces together but I don't want to dammage the paint or trim while removing it. Thanks

You will need a windshield clip tool. You can buy it at most auto parts stores. It releases the moulding from the clip. Good Luck, Craig

I went to an auto glass shop and they lent me the tool. It looks like a flat T that you slide under the trim to release the clips. If you have the right tool it makes it an easy job.1 min and your on your way.

:iagree: When I did the trim on my 80, I just drove it to the glass shop and they did it for me in a matter of seconds... no charge. It really is simple, you just need the correct tool to do it.
