My '76 was involved in a front ended. I am putting an '80 nose and rear bumper on it. The rear window was changed by the previous owner to a '67 style . The interior and just about everything else is fine. Well, the engine is a bit weak.
I have bought a '94 LT1 that I want to drop into it. This goes out to anyone who has tried this with success : I need any and all the help I can get with this project . The engine comes with : starter, alt. , a/c, power steering pump. exhaust manifolds, and, the almighty computer ! :D
Now, what mods will I have to do in order to get this FRANKENVETTE up and going? If there are mod kits out there , please tell me where I can get them, and what they would be !
Anyone with this knowledge can email me direct, if it makes it easier at :

Many thanks people !!

Do an archive search and also see http://www.corvettefaq.com for some others that have done it. It can be done and it works well. One of the hardest parts is locating the MAF sensor. Accessories might also be a problem.
like said above others here have done it,i myself have done tpi, locateing the maf sensor can be tough if you want cold air only but it can be done.im sure others will chime in.
First off all welcome to the forum!!!
have any pics off the car?
like said above corvettefaq.com has some material about that.
if you have the computer and all the electrics shouldnt be that hard
Ok, not to sound like a complete novice, although I am , but, what does that sensor do, exactly. I can rip apart and build a Mopar engine eyes closed, but the fuel injected, computerized stuff , I'm lost . :nonod:
your maf sensor measures how much air is entering the motor ,some f.i. motors have them some dont,i believe the lt-1 does.vettedan here on the forum did a lt-1 in his very clean install.heres his website http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/vettedan/
I have checked out his site, and it completely amazes me. It is as clean as I hope mine will be. He has quite a few fine ideas, which I will , no doubt, be " borrowing " !! ;)
The bone yard where I purchased the nose and engine package steered me in the direction of " Street & Performance " in Arkansas . I called down there, and was told they have everything I could want to make it happen. One stop lt-1 shopping , I was told ! Supposedly, they have all the mod kits I need. Seeing is believing, I guess. When this thing gets done, I will let all you kind folk know just how it came out.
WRAITH666- First of all, I hope you bought a Corvette LT1. It will make the conversion a lot easier. Go to my web page. There a lot of information that can help you. http://www.vetteworksonline.com

I have seen your site and it is amazing. If my car comes out half as good, I'll have heart failure , and won't have to worry about the car ! The engine is from a ' 94 Vette , so, right there I'm on my way !
You have quite a lot of very useful info , that I will be putting to work !
Where in hell did you put that computer ? I was looking at my " wreck " , and can't seem to find a place for it ! I can't remember, but, did you put hedders on it ? If so, which did you use, and did you have any issues with steering , tranny, etc ?
Feel free to add any insite , thanks.

WRAITH666-PCM was mounted behind the right wheel well. Remember the Corvette LT1 PCM harness might not be as long as the Camaro. I still think it can be mounted at the same spot. Heres a picture looking up from the right side of the engine. My '76 LT1/4L60E is currently For sale.

Re: LT1 INTO A '76 ! HELP !! (WRAITH666)
Welcome wraith!!
I have a 77 with a 92 LTI and 6 spd. I am in the same boat as you. I am modern EFI Illiterate and I did not do the swap myself but I am seeing quite a few areas where bubba has been in the conversion. Keep me in the loop as to what you do as well!!. If I do any mods or if you need any snapshots of my setup let me know!! (BTW I am running an accell ECM so the computer part is something I cannot help you with as of yet. :)
If you guys want to learn more about the corvette fuel injection systems, pick up this book.
How to Understand, Service and Modify Corvette Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Mangement by Charles Probst.
It tells all about the OBDI and OBDII signals and what is required and what you can ditch. Very helpful in my conversion. Also, make sure you pick up a Helm service manual for the donor car (in my case 99 Camaro). It has very detailed schematics and I couldn't imagine doing a conversion without one.
I would definitely recommend Accel Gen VII if you guys are planning on doing any serious engine modifications to your LT1's. Do it now, or you'll wish you did it later.
