Favorite Corvette Magazine
It would be interesting to see everyone's Vette magazine of choice! Vote and leave comments why..... good restoration tips, how to articles, pictures, etc
None of the above. I prefer "Car Craft" or "Chevy High Performace". Much more useful and relevant to a C3 (that is, a chevy carburated pushrod engine and 70's technology).
I guess if I want to know what kind of wax to use on a C5 corvette I may pick up one of those magazines.
I used to subscribe to every one of the Corvette magazines that you have listed. I have let them all lapse in the past year as the rates just seem to keep going up for the renewals and the magazines keep getting smaller. They are mostly geared to the C5 crowd anyway. They toss in the occassional older C model articles to keep us mildly interested, but, there is just not enough in them to keep me coming back anymore.
I do subscribe to Hot Rod, Chevy Hi-Performance, and Car Craft. I can learn more about my car in these magazines than I can in any of the Corvette only magazines.
None of 'em. I just let my subscription to Corvette Fever lapse. There just wasn't enough information in them to keep me interested and to justify the price anymore. Too many C5's and C4's. Things will only get worse after the C6's are in to full production.
Who wants to look at shiny pictures of cars you can go to any Chevy dealer parking lot and see?
I see them as a waste of money. I dont claim to be an expert on Vettes but in reading some of the readers letters to these various magazines I feel like a freekin genius.
Re: Favorite Corvette Magazine (79 Midnight Blue L82)
G'day,
I've answered this before, but will do so again. Living in a country with only a few thousand Corvettes and a population of about 20 million, I rarely get to see a Corvette being driven, and with winter approaching, will see even fewer. I get my "glass fix" by subscribing to several Corvette magazines: CF for about ten years, CQ and Vette for half that. About 12 months ago, I emailed Cam Benty (Editor of CF ) and asked if he was going to Nashville as I hoped to meet him there. He asked me, "What's at Nashville?" Kind of made me wonder how much he knows, or cares, about Corvettes.
On the other hand, I met Bob Wallace ( Editor of Vette, lives in LA ) and his son Robert in Nashville and despite their busy schedule, they took the time to mix with a bunch of Aussies and talk plastic. When we got back to LA after visiting Cape Canaveral, Lars in Denver and Las Vegas, Bob drove his C5 round to our motel and we went out for dinner with him and Robert.
I get the feeling Bob is more of a Corvette person than Cam, but would be happy to be proved wrong. I am about to subscribe to Corvette Enthusiast, as they have a lot of the old CF staff on board and also seem to be real Corvette buffs. Four magazine subscriptions ( one of them a quarterly ) doesn't seem too bad for a Corvette-depleted continent IMHO.
I subscribed to Corvette Magazine about two issues back. It came in the mail unsolicited and was one of those rare magazines that I read cover to cover. I subscribed for three years. Other than that I get AutoWeek (good racing news), Road&Track (good all around automotive) and Classic Motorsports (formerly British Car but now a great vintage sports car mag that covers all sports cars). This is the first Corvette magazine I've gotten in 33 years of owning my Corvette. Other than the Corvette I have 3 Austin Healeys and have always gotten the AHCA club magazine. The Corvette is closest to my heart but I never plan on selling any of my cars or motorcycles.
WOW, where do I start. Shark Quarterly was OK, at least the most relavent, but to thin and too infrequent. Corvette Fever USED to be good, I wouldn't pay a nickle for it now. Same old brake repair tech article, same old "how to buy a vette" article, and SAME OLD "CORVETTE LADIES" articles. What a lame waste of a magazine! Those clowns even reuse the same photos!!! What a joke, it's an insult.... I HATE CORVETTE FEVER, The worst part is they bought out 'Corvette World" and "Keepin Track" 2 fine mags. Thanks for bringing this up, now I'm all Peed off! I'm not going to sugar coat it. Corvette Fever is not worth wiping off the dip stick with, ARRRRRGGHHHH!!! :reddevil :cry :mad :banghead: :nonod: :U :beatdeadhorse:
