Hello,

I don't see how you could go any wider than 8 inch. 9 inch wheel would require way to wide of a tire to look right mounted and I would think you'd get allot of rubbing as a result. Not sure how it will steer either since I had problems with mine when I fitted it with wide tires up front. On tight fast corners it wanted to push and not turn. But, I'm not an expert but that's my 1 cent worth.

OK, other guys have gone much wider, and apparently there are no after affects from bearing loading, etc.....

BUT, in order to keep the same wheel centerline in front and rear, I went with 9.5 inch sawblades off a '92 vette, and 2.5 inch VBP wheel adaptors....some allmost 10 years ago.....started with only tire available...275/40/17 and since then went with 255 50 in front and 275 50 in rear.....

I had to limit the steering by building out the lower A arm snubber by about 3/4 inch, and that kept the tires off the frame/sway bar....this with all of them....

largest single improvement for chassis/handling....
after that rack/pinion steering which goes along better with modern rubber....
