The intake manifold on a stock L48-Is it painted the GM blue or left the aluminum color?
I know the L82 from 78 on used the aluminum valve covers painted black with the fins left the aluminum. On an 80 L48, was it the same or did the base L48 use the standard metal valve covers painted GM blue?
Thanks. :flag
My L-48 was stock, I'm the second owner so I think it was untouch. The intake was aluminium to keep the weight down and the valve cover are metal painted blue.
I will paint my valve covers and intake manifold blue. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to get the correct GM paint at a decent price?
TIA :chevy

Chevy dealers may have it ask for GM 12346300. It's $10 a can and you'll probably need to. A very close alternative is what is sold at NAPA, Autozone and probably most other parts places made by Dupli coat (or something like that) and is called GM Corp Blue.
