My comments maily reflect engine dyno testing I have observed with vintage racing engines. The Stahls were always outpeforming the Hookers in test I observed. Are they worth twice the money for 20HP, you have to make the decision. I have not obseved Big Block Chevy comparisions just 331 cu/in road race engines that are limited by the rules to modifications allowed. The Hookers may perform better on large displacement small blocks in the 400 cu/in range but, NOT the 383 and below range based on other testing we have seen with Camaro header tube sizes using Hooker chassis headers from 1.625" to 1.75" to 1.875" tube diameters. The Hookers are too big in diameter and too long in the primary pipe section for optimum power but, are better than nothing, I own a set of Hookers myself but really want Stahl side exit headers for my Vintage 63 FI Vette. My 72 LT-1 has Hooker chassis headers that are too short for proper power but, do show a 30HP gain over factory manifolds (the headers are too low too costing me about 1" of ground clearance!)
