I feel you guys, my every day car ia a 400hp FORMULA 383.
It was a 88 FORMULA 350 befor I rebuilt it.
I get no gas mileage at all. I drive it to Collage 3 days a week=25 miles one way.
My Wife was right last year, when she told me I would regreat this engine build next year :nonod: I just love the power.

Just so you know, Kerry proposed an increase of $.50 per gallon. Also, some of you need to pay more attention to history and economics. Most scholars today agree that it was the economic policies of President Reagan and not Clinton that produced the economic conditions of the 90's. As for leaving Iraq, that is exactly what we did in Afghanistan. We funded a war which destroyed their counrty and then cut our funding. This created an uneducated society with no infrastructure and a great deal of hatred for us. Leaving Iraq now will only cause us to deal with it later. As for gas prices we need to start looking to a higher blend of ethanol. It is more expensive to produce right now, but is completely renuable, burns clean, keeps money in the country, and allows for higher compression engines.

Summer is here, gas goes up, what`s new!!!!! This country does not dictate gas prices Opec does!!!!! We own Classic cars that get poor mileage, when they were new gas was a quarter a gallon... If your car gets 12 miles per gallon and it costs $2.00 bucks a gallon----would you pay the two bucks or walk the 12 miles...In the overall picture of most peoples budgets gas is still a bargin---heck we a getting taxed to death and people do nothing but let gas go up and people panic.....I will still drive to work and still cruise in my Vette!!! :chevy :flag

My vette is a daily driver. im a poor student that spends all my money on school and I dont have much time for a job. So paying gas in the mid 2.40's a gallon and going to school are out of the question. I have driven maybe 10 miles since gas got over 2 dollars here in cali, Im scared that if the gas prices go up im going to be forced to sell my car :(

CAN'T READ ALL THE POSTS ESPECIALLY ABOUT VOTING IN KERRY? COME ON AMERICA, DON'T FALL FOR THE SAME LIES THE LIBERALS HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS!!! PRICE A BOTTLE OF WATER, SODA OR BEER. AN OIL COMPANY HAS TO FIND THE OIL, GET IT OUT, TRANSPORT IT, REFINE IT AND THEN TRANSPORT IT TO THE STATION. PRETTY GOOD DEAL WHEN IT'S COMPARED TO EVERYTHING ELSE. DON'T START WHINING AND THE ARABS ALWAYS TRY TO HELP OUT ALL THE PRESIDENTS, CARTER, CLINTON TO NAME A COUPLE, IT'S NOTHING NEW!!
I USE TO BE A DEMOCRAT, AFTER THE LAST ELECTION WHEN I VOTED FOR GORE, I FINALLY OPENED MY EYES AND REALIZED THE DEM'S HAVE BEEN SCREWING ME BIG TIME.

AS FAR AS C3'S GO, 70 TO 72 ARE GOING TO GO UP! SO BUY NOW.

What are you guys complaining about?? The price of gasoline is still cheaper than a gallon of milk, a gallon of paint, a gallon of beer, or even cheaper than a gallon of bottled water!!
And it's a good thing Corvette's don't run on any of those items. How many gallons of milk would you need to drink to keep up with one week of driving your Corvette? How many times could you paint your house compared to a year's fuel consumption? How drunk would you get in a day's comparison? How often would you need to pee from bottled water compared to refilling your Corvette's tank?

If I had a gallon of beer for every...

At least Bush is not having sex on the floor of the white house, and not running around after every woman with his pants down, and not a embarassment.
The most powerful man in the world grabs some strange, and we have the cojones to question him on it? The problem is that he got caught, not that he did it. And frankly, we don't know what life with Hillary was like. For all we know, they had a business arrangement. The more time goes on, the more I see it that way.

In the end, whether Slick ***** was getting hummers from an intern, or using her as a cigar box, or whatever, is none of my business, and it doesn't have an effect on my checking account, or quality of life. If anything, my quality of life, back then, was a lot better. He made me laugh and showed me that The President, was just a guy, after all.

Finally, we had a president I could relate to.

I totally agree with you joeveto. How many presidents have done embarrassing things without us finding out? Kennedy was one of americas most loved presidents, yet he and his brother had a thing going with Marilyn Monroe. Basically every president has had some sort of scandal or embarressment associated with them. As for california and your gas prices.. why are you complaining about gas prices. Shouldnt you be complaining about your other taxes and all the queers? High taxes on your gas is one way to try getting out of that debt. And as for that Kerry thing and the SUV in his driveway, that is just rediculous. How two faced can a guy get? Say anything to get popular, doesnt matter if you believe in it or not.

Once it hits a certain level you will see syn gas magically appear, if we can syn oil then I am sure we can syn gas but it is prolly much too expensive to be viable right now.
You are almost right, I remember in my Geology class my professor telling me about in the 70's gas crunch the oil companys figured out how to refine oil that was trapped in the shale in Colorado area. Something like 5 billion barrels worth is there, but it is very expensive to extract, like 5 dollars a gallon. So they stopped working on it.

   Did someone mention Jobs lol. Do not look now but most of the Bank's are going to India! No insurance needed,No Retirement? No Benifits, And no customer service to speak of. Thousands of AMERICANS have lost there Jobs to other places for cheap labor. Gas prices are too high. But not mainly due to the fact of gas price but also as one mentioned before people are going to have to drive much further to get to and from there job. And yep I am one of those gas guzzlin fools in a Saburban. But it is much safer than a cracker box in city traffic. So even though I have to drive 46mile's round trip for my job it is worth it to feel safer than the average Bear. :) . Many things have changed over the years. Years ago you would get a job and expect to be there until you would retire. But no more. So you would purchase a home near where you would work to make an easy drive there. I could rant on forever about these things but naaaaaaaaaaa :)

Some facts not mentioned:

- Gasoline is the same price the world over. The retail price varies by the amount of tax added on...
- One major reason for the recent price hikes is the increasing use of petroleum by China (over a billion people...), and they aren't concerned about the environment
- To our buddies in Europe: You may complain about high gas prices, but they are more than evened out by cheap booze prices. I was in France & Italy recently and wine that would be about $20/bottle was about $5 there!! :yesnod:
okay, and you fill yourself up with 30 gallons of wine every week???? you got issues man :jester  :D

IMHO that operation could be handled efficiently with no quarter by the military with limited press involvement
IMHO that operation should have taken the exact amount of time for a few planes to fly over and deploy some real artillery. There's no need for us to swap casualties with anyone, including terrorists, for the benefit of the Halliburton's of the world.

yes, the gas prices are getting pretty dang salty (anyone wanna take a bet the the gas companies will post record profits?) But the price of parts is going up as well. It isn't hard for me to go to an auto parts store and drop 50$ like its nothing! The addage definitely holds true; If the speed doesn't kill ya, the cost of the parts will! :seeya

Gas cheaper in America???? Sure, at the pump maybe, then you gotta add the billion a month we spend in the middle east to maintian that flow, then add our level of pollution compared to other first world nations. In the end, I'll bet we actually spend more.

And for you guys that think driving an SUV make you safe - all you have done islisten to GM's marketing department. Read the accident reports. Main problem they are running into is the FALSE sense of security a big, high truck give you when in reality, while SUVs have big engines ang can go very fast and feel stable in straight lines, they CAN'T brake or stear worth crap.

Long as they can get 40K for a pickup with a camper shell - they will do it.

Democrats vs Republicans,Arabs telling us to get out- we're worse then Saddam, people trying to convince us gas is cheap here, milk going up to $4.00 a gallon, plywood $25-$41 a sheet, jobs going offshore because the management makes more money and the unions keep driving up the cost of mfg, it's a mad,mad ,mad world!!! .............now to relax a bit and have a cold glass of Jimmy Jones punch that should make things right!

Before this gets moved to the political forum....more random thoughts: I was in California last week and gas was expensive, around $2.50 or so, compared to Georgia for instance (about $1.60 for regular). But I have to laugh at the one California poster here that was blaming Bush for the price of gas. It's like, dude, you're state is a fiscal and administrative mess after a decade or so of extreme liberal state administrations. Don't blame the government in Washington, blame you're own voting record (assuming you voted for Davis) that resulted in a bankrupt state, energy shortages, and a resulting extra $1 a gallon of tax you are paying compared to other states.
What about the yearly vehicle tax Californians were paying (which was recently canceled by Arnold), was that Bush's fault to? Strange since my tags cost $20 per car per year in TN vs., what was it? $800 per car in CA?
