So I've got my new ZZ$ (initially a misprint, but I thinnk I'll keep it!!) and tranny.
The problem is shift points...my redline is (conservatively) set at about 6000. The tranny bogs/doesn't really rev past 3500 in '3' (you 200R4 guys know what I mean...) which really isn't providing maximal torque at WOT.
I've tried adjusting the throttle cable, which will make it stay at 3500 shorter or longer
I've tried messing with the fuel injection (hehe) without success
Any ideas?
I'm beginning to suspect that the govenor supplied with the tranny was for the original engine and I need a new one with higher set point?--whaddya think??
Do you mean it shifts into OD too soon? Most all of them do that. You just need to keep he car out of OD except when you're on the freeway and have gotten up to cruising speed.

If the TV cable is set correctly, then the next item that controls shift points would be the governor. If at full throttle you are up-shifting at 3500 and at part throttle it is shifting too soon, then work on the gov.
