Yesterday I rejetted my Holly 4160. I went from a 72 jet to a 68. Everything went fine. I noticed after all was said and done that my fuel filter had very little gas in it . Usually it it full. I know the clear fuel filters are a no no and I have to get rid of it but I cant figure out why my fuel delivery is so low. The fuel pump is new, less than a 100 miles on it and my tank and lines weredropped and cleaned at the same time I replaced the pump. The car runs fine but I am afraid that it is starving for gas. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Mike
did you clean the tank at the same time??
could be something in there that reduces the fuel
i had some problems with my car also and i installed a transparent
gas filter just too see if the fuel came thru.
i also saw that it wasnt completly full.but that disapeared when i had driven it for alittle bit.
i had quite a bit of water in my tank so i emptied totaly and then i saw all this
junk that was in the bottom.
so i figured it was this junk that clogged the fuel line sometimes and then it flushed loose by the fuel.
so i cleaned the tank and the problem is gone. :smash:
cant say that is your problem but always a start :steering:
Tank, fuel lines and fuel pump were all done at the same time. everything was good until I rejetted the carb. I just dont understand why the filter wont fill up. I looked inside the tank again and everthing is clean.

check flow by hooking filter output to a hose, into a bucket. it will run long enough to check out. (fill up the lawn mower!) as long as flow is good, air is not a problem.
i always use steel filters as they will hold up longer in a fire.
