Stupid question time
:crazy: Ok.... like I said its stupid question time for the 20 year old who just took apart his first motor. :cool: When putting in new (non metal) head gaskets do I need to use some sort of sealant? Same question for the intake manifold gasket. Lastly how do I figure out where all the vacuum hoses plug back into my carb.... should've labeled 'em better. Help is always appreciated :cheers:

No need to use sealant on head gaskets- it doesnt hurt to use sealant on the 4 outer ports on the intake they are for water and sometomes seep. Throw away the front and rear rubber seals between the intake and block use a bead of sealant about 3/8 thick instead of the gaskets. and always have a clean dry surface to work with. Vacum hoses we dont need no stinking vacum hoses :o)
