My headlights are a little different than what most do. Theyre small enough (74' Datsun) that I'll be able to install the flat plexi covers instead of the Guldtrand "bubbles". I've removed the front grills and fabricated brackets to hold little yellow fog lights. These will act as running lights. I want to be able to look into the front and see the aluminum radiator, AN fittings and stainless hoses (kind of like a Cobra). I've never seen my wheels on another Vette. They arwe also kind of like a Cobra's. I'm also having aluminum door panels made that will be swiss cheesed, then polished to match my Kirkey "ultra lite" seats. I'm installing a Hairy Glass dash that will also have a polished & swiss cheased insert. The center console will be pretty unique too. Hard to explain that one, but I'll post pics when I get there.
Im about to replace my stock front end with a one piece tilt front end, and im going to fabricate my own tilting mechanism, then planning on putting the headlights UNDER the bumper, where the grilles would normally be. It should be one of the more unique vettes on the forum once its all done. So thats my unique mod :D
Re: Looking Four Unique Mod Ideas (killervette666)
I have an upper radiator hose shield that is both rare and unusual. It is custom fabricated from a campbells chicken noodle soup can (label removed) wrapped in aluminum tape. It is both functional AND attractive! :yesnod:
Mrvette,
I have quite a long list myself....still trying to figure out how to post pics though.
Found my own little webspace, but have no idea as of yet how to upload to it.
All I know is right click on stuff and then look at the options....and one of the options does not say "send to my own little webspace" :D

Re: Looking Four Unique Mod Ideas (GrandSportC3)
My POS. I wanted Chrome bumpers for it (the rear panel.) It just eats at me that it's going to be real hard to do. I'm going to order the filler panel tomorow and do this.
I wish I seen this post befor I offerd to part my PITA out.
The $450 427 will need some TLC lol a lot of TLC.
I just hope it's steel there tomorrow when I go get it.
I fixed 99% of the wiring to, The Dash harness is realy being a ****.
finished, but not installed:
-aluminum headlight bar that mounts in the nose behind the front grill area that eliminates the pop-ups all together- saving about 20 lbs
-aluminum rad support that only weighs about 3 lbs
-aluminum vacuum tube that replaces the 45 lb unit in the front nose and itself weighs in at about 10 lbs (although i'm probably not going to mount it because i really don't need it since i don't have the pop-ups)
still working on:
-bracket that will eliminate the upper diff crossmember, purpose being weight savings and to make room for my coilover 6 link suspension
-carbon fiber interior panels-- i have all the material, just need to get the body back on the frame so i can do the fitting
-12 point cage (again waiting on dropping the body)
Don't tell anyone this, but my wife uses a cloths pin (wooden one no less) to hold the shoulder belt tension, that way it doesn't pull to hard all the time against her shoulder.
Pretty easy to duplicate, but I'll never admit to giving you the idea for it. :p:
I know it's kinda bubba'ed but the person that owend my car before me put lights in the side vents of my 77 so that when you put the turn signal or flashers on, they light up... kinda like a clearance light... i think it looks pretty cool though....
