Here's a stupid question. Its been confusing me.
When I come to a hard stop there's a "clunk". From somewhere in the back. I have checked the brakes, replaced the half shaft u-joints etc. My next place to work on is new drive shaft u-joints.
Check the front brushing on the differential. You can have someone sit in the car an shift it back and forth while you look under at the front of the diff. If the bushing is gone, you will see it move up and down. A second cause could be shot trailing arm front brushing.
Good luck.
PS lots in archives on the subject if you do a search.
