I see several threads going on rear spring replacement. Has anyone ever re-arched a vette spring? Just wondering, since some people like to stay original this seems like a good option, and from what I have read, is not a big deal to have done.
There are NO exact replacement springs and most of the ones that are available aren't right. Composite spring are a great upgrade but if you want stock then you can have yours re arched at any spring and frame shop. I tried a replacement once that was WAY high and crooked. I didn't keep it on very long.
What about Eaton Spring in your area? I hear they can re-arch springs? I looked into this locally and think it would be easier and faster finding the Holy Grail or Capt Kidd's treasure judgihng by the response I got from spring shops around here.

I had my 7 leaf rearched and they added a leaf to make it stiffer. My original 71 spring was really sagging. The spring shop advised me to add the leaf because old springs have lost some tension.
It bought my rear right up to stock ground clearance.:)
Eaton is the ticket they were the OEM for many makes and models and have original blue prints for many springs. Give them a call they know their stuff. Had my 73 spring re-arched it is perfect car sits at the correct height and the ride is not to stiff or soft. :steering: :auto:
