Default need a good location for Accusump

I'm an autocrosser with a lot of $ in my engine and am planning on installing a 2 qt Accusump in my small block C3. I'm wondering where people have mounted these units? My first inclination was to put it in front of the radiator but after looking around it seems like it could be mounted vertically behind the vacuum tank and master cylinder. It's 12" without fittings and there appears to be about 20" or so of room. That location is somewhat inacessible but the plumbing would be a short straight shot. Unfortunately the clutch linkage looks like it is in the way regardless of where I put it.

To make the job even more challenging, I am running a Moroso 7 qt pan with a kicked out sump. The adapters for sale lower the oil filter by 1-1/2" (Moroso) to 2" (Accusump). This appears to make installation of a decently sized oil filter darn near impossible because it will hit the kickout on the sump. The Moroso unit may work out, but I am also wondering if there are any other adapters available?

thanks

I would look at installing the sump can in the fender, down on the driver's side where the old charcoal canister / cruise control / windshield washer bottle were (race car's don't need these).
Look at putting a remote oil filter mount and then you won't have a filter clearance problem. You can run a standard filter relocation kit, or look at and "Olberg" filter system.

Good luck and happy racing !

I am running a rear oil cooler (with fan) and remote filter behind the rear diff. where the spare used to be. Thinking of adding an Accusump back there as well. It's a good place to put heavy things.

I don't have any of those things there, but that's where I like it too. Washer bottle is on the passenger side though. As to the remote filter, I'm waiting for the adapter to show up before I decide to get that radical. I'll post a picture if this goes well or say what went wrong if it didn't.

thanks for the help

I'm not quite there. Maybe if I had a new C6 I could get that single purpose about this car but it's also a daily driver so I'll keep the spare.

thanks though, see previous reply for how I expect to proceed
