looks like expanded metal. Available in your finer hardware stores. Not my cup of tea though. You can still get all 3 68-69 front grilles new from GM for around $100. I like the stock ones best.

Great car but gotta pass on the grilles though. Reminds me of what they use to cover radiator enclosures.

It's stucco wire. Available at Lowes, etc.
Very popular in small amounts with the C5 crowd... used in the various openings.

every ricer with a veilside bumper and like 10.000 grilles and openings in it has thatstuff. However, I may be forced to use it too but if I do it will be black so it won't be noticable.
