I have a problem with my tach. I recently replaced the circuit board on a tach for a 76 vette. After replacing the tach, I am having then following problem: The tach works fine from0 rpm to 3000 rpm, after revving the engine above 3000 rpm, the tach needle goes to zero. when I release the accelerator the tach functions below 300p rpm. for some reason when the engines revs above 3000 rpm, the tach needle goes to zero.

Re: tachometer (fmaella)
INTERESTING!
Just replaced the one on my '76 too. Only to find out that you have to pull the needle off and set it to zero rpm with the key on.
After all that work now, my tach reads about 2800 RPM high!
I need to pull the dash again and pull the needle to recenter it with/for the new circuit board. :mad You problem though, sounds different. I'm curious and will be a' watching! :lurk:
