Default Torq Thrust "look alike" wheels?

Hey all

Looking for a set of Torq Thrust "style" wheels. I know that Torq Thrust has the "D" and "II", and Cragar makes the "SS"

Does anyone else make that style without the Cragar and/or American Racing prices?

I want to put 16x7 or 17x7 on there.

Thanks!

nope...nothing that has the quality of any of the ones that you mentioned. Save your money and buy the quality wheels and not some out of balance, out of true, junk wheels....trust me! Buy the real McCoys!

Eagle Alloys makes a torque thrust looking wheel and it is of good quality. My pops runs em on his vette and has had no problem with them and they are a little cheaper than american racing but not by much.

I picked up a set of 17" Eagle Alloy 211's for less than the price of a set of 15" TTII's. The shop I bought them from had a 211 and a TTII right beside each other in the show room. If you look closely you can see a slight difference in the shape of the spokes. Other than that these wheels are practically identical as far as appearance goes. I can't offer you an informed opinion on manufacturing quality between these makes.

I have had a set of 16X8 Vintage 45s for 4 years, and I have to disagree with a couple of statements I have seen here.
First, the quality is first rate. I like them better than the American Racing TT because the Vintage wheels have natural (as cast) centers. The Americans are painted. I am picky about the details and this matters to me. These wheels have been balanced once in the last four years (when they were installed) and I have put about 3500 trouble free miles on them. This includes burnouts, drag racing, 100+ mile trips, and well over 120 MPH runs. Always a smooth ride with no problems.
Finally, cost. At less than $250 a wheel they are cheaper than most alternatives. The one thing people comment about most on my car are my wheels. The only thing I would change is I would go for the 17"s because there are more tire choices in that size. When I bought mine 16" was the largest size Vintage was making.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jeff
P.S. I paid full price for my wheels and have not received any renumeration from Vintage Wheel Works. I just like my wheels and hate see them being dissed.

I went with the "Classic Style". Bought old Appliance wheels and refinished them. Very happy with the results. No spacers.

I can live with the non-performance 15" tires. Wanted the look.

I couldn't :iagree: more. I bought a set of aftermarket 18's and after a year and a 1/2 they were cracking at the spokes. I won't go the cheap route again.

What I want to know is "why doesn't somebody make a 16 or 17 inch wheel that looks like the aluminum wheels on the 75-79 'Vettes?"....

I have just bought a set of TT II's and I would recommend buying the real thing, these wheels are just superb quality and worth paying the extra for. Just my $0.02.

OK, just say no to cheap knockoffs, but Vintage Wheel Works Vintage 45s are not cheap knockoffs. I wouldn't buy TTIIs because I want the authentic look, not polished aluminum. Just my preference.
Also wouldn't but American Torque Thrusts...they paint their centers. Not authentic. Not for me.
Have Vintage wheels with as-cast centers. Very authentic, very high quality, very reasonable price.
