Re: Average Vette Owner's Age.... (stingraymaniac)
I sell used Corvettes and I can tell you most of my customers are from 40 and up. I will also say that we do a good business in the 60 to 75 age group.
I have seen the half-century mark. It would be interesting as well to see the average age by generation (C1 to C5). There are distinct differences in culture in the various Fora here.
When I was 20, you never see a 50 yo guy wearing blue jeans
and banging gears in big V8 sport cars. They drove
4 and 6 cyl's cars. Now the kids drive the little motors.
Point to ponder.
Just turned 45, had the vette since I was 26.
Anyone else seen the pic of the guy being buried in his C4?
I think the poll you mention is more new Vette owners as they are the ones who can afford the C5's.
I bought my 80 when I was 19. I am now 34, and still have it. I would never consider getting rid of it. I may consider another though. This one has long been paid for and is very sentimental to me. Interestingly, I just got pulled over by a cop for the first time in my vette in 15 years! Got a ticket for turning left into the right lane of a 2 lane hwy. Bogus ticket huh?
I was into Muscle Cars in my younger days. Bought a 1976 Oldsmobile 442 (455 Rocket) when I was 22. Still have it and I'm 47. Picked up my first Vette last August (1976 L82 4 spd.) They both can GO!
Bought my first new vette when I returned from Viet nam . A red/red 71' LT1,4SPD,CONVERT.(wish I still had it) The 73' I have now I bought when I was 26.(53 now) Had a bunch of others along the way but kept this one for some reason.
