Try the Kuhmo Victor Racer, sticky like a hot eraser and cheap to replace. A good autocross tire for the money. You won't mind so much when you smoke em up.
The most sticky tires I've ever seen were tires made exclusively for Cobra's.
They felt just like MT ET Streets however they had the same type groves as a standard street tire. If I remember they were BF Goodrich or Goodyear tires....The guy told me they only make them for Cobra's...however I'm sure if enough money showed up on the sales counter top...the guy would be asking you if you were having them mounted and balanced during the purchase.
The Hoosiers I run are the RS03 DOT legal road race tires and I would NOT! use them for regular street driving. Kuhmo makes a 265/45/16 V700 Victoracer tire that is sticky and "streetable". I am going to put on the Kuhmos and try them on my street wheels soon, my good friend runs them without problems on his C3 although they are a little short in height (to properly fill the wheel wells of our Vettes.)
I'll have to wait till the next car show when I see the Cobra group again.
I think I remember them saying something about going to the Cobra web site....and they have the tires listed up there.
I don't know I've never made a visit to their site so I'd have to wait till I see them again.
Anyone have the Cobra web page????? Give it up
