I joined this forum in late 99 or early 2000... can't remember and I'm to lazy to check under my profile. Back then no one cared about post count as we were all new to the board. It was more about true corvette topics such as repair and restoration and less about wheel size and mufflers. I read more than I post, so I dont' really miss it myself. I hope that people are not participating in this forum simply because there is no post count!

I doubt it.. Well - maybe in Off Topic.. but I don't think that the tech section suffered from the missing post count...
They should have a counter that adds one notch for a meaningful post and deducts 2 for superfluous/nonsense...then look who has the highest post count, it will be a day/night difference

Some of the high post guys are doing nothing but running their post count up. What good does this do?
How can someone run 30-40 -50 posts a day?
I am on here alot and run less then 4 or 5 posts per day. I have seen one at 70 posts per day but can't think of one good topic he introduced.
NO do away with the post counter, It is just a status thing .
No one can add 30 or 40 posts a day and really say anything.
I think back of some of our regulars and I can not think of one thing I learned from them.
There are others who don't post the garbage and really contribute.
We had a post counter? You mean we get stars? Oh , I see, Well None of that matters anyway, Who reads ALL the posts, take what you need and leave the rest. Its called socialism, The Russians tried it for a long time but too many people just wonted stars.
Try to contribute, You don't HAVE to believe, Just click your heels togather 3 times pinky.......LOL

I learned that you can measure "bump steer" with a tape measure (instead of two dial indicators) I also learned that something "will work" because it looks strong BOTH WRONG but posted anyway!!!!! I have yet to figure out what a 14" caliper is though!!

I learned and got a TON of help and assistance from GDaina and Chuck Harmon. Had great (sometimes WILD) conversations about the good and bad of the 302 motor (my favorite mouse). Learned how to replace my steering column from a guy that REALLY knows his stuff. And I am getting ongoing assistance and a great friendship from Ed Pavett with my Vette deconstruction. I also learned, as redvetracr notes, that some folks sometimes baffle people with
