had the same problem with my 1969 corvette I bought bran new male hood pins after market looked the same if you look close to the pins after market there is a difference buy a good orginal set
There should be a cable running on the underside of the hood from latch to latch. I cut a v into a wooden dowel and pulled the side of the hood that does release up enough to get the v end of the dowel onto the cable, then push hard. You may need to push the hood side to side while doing.
Once you get it released (keep at it, it's happened to most of us at one time or another and you will get it released), place some duct tape over both hood-side latches to cover holes, and then close hood and press down gently onto the pins to dimple the tape. Adjust the pins until they are centered over the holes. Mine used to get stuck all the time, but since I lined up this way, it has never happened again (knock on wood ).
