I ordered my '80 new in August of '79, it has 262,000 milles on it. I change the oil and filter myself every 3000 miles, that alone is close to $1100.00.

I got a folder full of receipts. One day I'll get around to add'em all up. I call it my hobby and I'm still having fun.

I'm with you redvetracr. I put about $9000 in just converting my already expensive 460 nitrous motor over to a blower, another $3500 in blown automatics, Almost $3000 in standards, $2000 in shocks and a few springs, another $1000 in more springs, mags, tires, paint, it never goes away.
$30,000 easy and I will be upgrading one of these days in tires and mags and that is $4000 plus.

1980 Vette

Initial buy price= $6400
Running total of all parts and work= $5088
Estimation of cost to get it where I want it= $8000 more!

So I'll have roughly $20,000 in it when I'm "done".

My 1976 L82 4 speed was painted, the rear suspension was rebuilt, new interior was installed, a new windshield, front end was rebuilt then I bought it for $4,900. in Aug 2003. Since then I added new 255/60/15 Goodyear Eagle l Nascar tires ($350), new headers with true dual exhaust ($400) and miscellaneous items ($250). Total one year later $5900.00 (Picture below was taken two weeks after I bought it)

Well...once upon a time, Grey Davis needed more money to pay for the birthing & education of children born to illegal immigrants. "What can I tax that everyone will have to pay?" asked the governor...blah, blah, blah...and they all lived happily ever after.
