if i didn't know better, looking at the front i would think the C3 is the newer design.

Hill stated the C3 was a MAJOR inspiration for the C6. Lines can be seen in the nose and fenders.
Based on the photos I've seen to date, the "Corvette" script is on the lower right of the rear.

Line up the Gens and tell me the C5 and C6 have a change in styling in the magnitude of the other Gen changes.
C-6 is cool, but I REALLY wish they'd left the pop up headlights alone.
I just think it looks so, God forgive me, Japanese. :bb The headlights, I mean.[Modified by 79ls1, 10:56 AM 7/4/2004]

But you can tell it looks like they were going back to some tall fenders like the C3s

Line up a C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 and ANYONE can see the generational changes...not so with a C5 to C6. Nice car, love the bump in power under the hood and priced very well (how in the world dealers are still selling C5s is beyond me)...but hardly a new generation....

It does say "Corvette" on the lower right corner of the rear.
Also, there are no bow tie logos on the car at all, nor do I remember it saying Chevrolet on it either.
The engine compartment was dusty from testing. I forgot to mention the car was from the GM Desert Proving Grounds in near by Mesa, where I use to work as a Durability Test Driver. The engineer had been driving it home, and I guess he decided to bring it down to the car show to let all the Vette owners check it out.
To everyone who feels like the C6 is closer to a mid generation styling update than a true next generation step, all I can say is reserve your final opinion until you see the car first hand. Once you stand next to one, sit in one, and compare it first hand to a C5, you will probably change your mind. It's a very different car up close and personal. The C6 is much narrower, closer to the C3. The car appears a lot smaller than the C5. It's easy to see how you'd think it's a "C5.2" from all the pics, but I feel that's only because it takes most of it's styling influence from the recent C5, but I see C4, C3, and some C2 in there too, just not as much as C5. Again, standing next to it, and sitting in it, you do not get the feeling you're dealing with a C5 variation. This car is definitely it's own. The cabin feels smaller inside to me, but it has that nice "fit's like a glove" feel once you're settled in the seat, like the C5 has. This car was also keyless. You touch pads to open the door and start it. At one point the engineer walked out of range, and I could not get out! I can think of worse places to be stuck though.
Overall, I think the C6 is a nice car. I personally like the exterior from the firewall back. Corvettes have mostly had long engine compartments/front ends that were a bit out of proportion with the rest of the car from the firewall back. This car doesn't seem to have that feel up front. The interior is very nice too, but the interiors of previous Vettes made you feel like you're in a Corvette. This one could be the interior of any contemporary sports car, import or domestic. Nice? Yes, very, but not "unique".
Do I like the C6? Yes, I do, but my initial first hand reaction was limited to "It's a very nice car". Now, my initial reaction to the C5 when I saw it first hand for the first time eight or so years ago was, "Woa, now that's the S**t!
