My Dad was the original owner of my 74 so I guess i should change my Forum name to:
"Son of Bubba"
When I inherited my car one of the projects was to remove the exhaust system. I found no fewer than 6 coat hangers wound around the mufflers and the frame to keep them from dragging.
He must have taken the Vette to one of those Dry Cleaning/Muffler shops to get repaired.

Default my dad's "beater" - okay, not a Vette, but funny

My dad bought a beater back in the 90's to get to work etc for $100. It was a 80 Dodge Colt or something. Rustiest little thing you'd ever seen. The mounts that held the rear axle in place rusted out, so dad cut 2 large holes in the floor, and wrapped a chain - yes a chain - through the two holes, around the axle, then used a bolt to connect the two ends of the chain together. Of course to be safe, he wrapped it around several times, and checked it weekly!! Darn little car drove like that for several years till it was time to sell it. Dad put sign in window to sell for $20. no takers. Downed it to $15, somebody gave him a $20 and told him to keep the change!!!

Corz can vouch for mine LMAO

Let's see

Bubba did a home paint job and painted right over the original pinstripes.

The Hurst shifter for the ZF6 would not fit in the confines of the center console so instead of modding the console he took a torch to the shifter.

I have random wires that seem to go nowhere, are 3 different colored wires spliced together to make one long wire and 2 red wires that for some reason have insulation missing and are fused together. I am afraid to even TOUCH those.

Bubba replaced the entire frame and suspension but didn't repair or replace the lower Radiator support that looks like swiss cheese.

Default Bubba Strikes again

The best Bubba I found was on a car I didn't own. There was a cut to size 2x4" wedged between the head and the alternator to keep the belt tight.

"Don't worry it won't come out, the wood is wedged really tight".

I couldn't believe it. What a thrill for Bubba if it did come out,, throw the belt, and bounce the 2x4" into the coasting down fan.

Don't remember the year,, but my guess was 1965 or so. Never forgot this one.

The second best was a screw driver through the carb to keep the choke open,, fortunately for Bubba it was short enough to miss the throttle plates.
