I am ordering offset trailing arms for a 79 and wonder if anyone has done this.
also does anyone have the new offset needed on a ten inch wheel with the trailing arm offset
thanks
A number of people have installed offset TA's with good result. I'm sure some of the guys will reply with more information than I can on the subject. Welcome to the forum!!
What is the new offset that can be used to maximize these arms??? I am wanting to put the widest wheel/tire combo on the back thats possible. i believe that 305's are the widest tires.. but whats the offset on a 17 inch. rim...?? thanks ElCid79

I'de like to know what the "New Offset" is myself. All offsets are offset 2" unless you make them yourself. There is an offset and a double offset. Arms are exactly the same except the double offset arm has the spring bolt hole moved in 1" and you HAVE TO get a shortened spring. Other than that I don't know of any other offset arm.
Hey Dan, We actually ordered these from you on friday... Glad you posted. What offset allows us to use the widest possible wheel? F.Y.I Leichtigkeit, is my father..
I think you need a wheel backspace of 5 inches to run a 10 inch wheel without it sticking out from the fenders. I have offset arms from Van Steel and am running an 8.5 inch wheel with 4.25 inch backspacing and it sits flush with the fender with a 275 tire on the back. I am not sure if you can run 5 inch backspace with a 15 inch wheel but I am sure you can with a 17.
I was going to be putting 17's on it anyways... Some of those Boyd Coddington Smoothie II's...
Those are sweet rims. I'm putting them on my 04' Colorado. You can run 255/45/17 up front on a 8" wide rim and a 4" backspace. A 285/40/17 in the rear on a 9" wide rim w/a 5" backspace. Post some pics when you get them on. I'd love to see them.

Will do.... Don't know how long it will be, depends on if I can sell my current wheels or not... If I do, then I am forced into ordering new ones... If not I may just wait a little while... hah...
