NICE! I'm heading down the same path but didn't go with the permastar... probably should have.

That new intake looks good dmon. I was eyeing it myself til a friend said he could get me a slightly used performer for free. Can't beat the price. Hope he gets it soon.

Looks really nice. I am in the process of buying a whole bunch of the steel braided lines as well. Just can't get the hot-rodder out of me either. As cool as those air filters look you may however want to reconsider it's use at some point. I had one for a while, always questioned the filtering capacity of it and then one day after putting the distributor back in (worthless dual point thingy that required constant fiddling), the motor spat up through the carb starting a good sized fire! That filter burned like there was no tomorrow and little black chunks of gook went all down the throat of the carb all over the place. I pitched the remains and since then went with a traditional element deeming it much more safe and reliable. I still have the remains the filter on my shop wall the cage still looks too nice to throw away but after seeing what it did I would NEVER put it back on a car.

My very humble .02 which is probably worth less than that;-)

Cheers
-Andre

Very nice! Do you feel like you spent a lot of time and/or money to make your vette look this nice? I ask because my best friend is close to bailing on his vette. Because his friends and family (particularly his IN-LAWS) hammer him every time he spends ANY money or time on his vette.

Yep,

been there done that one. If nothing else make sure you change the element often as it deteriorates and falls into the carb.

You can re-size the pics using Irfanview.

It can be downlaoded for free at

http://www.irfanview.com

I think that the largest size that you can post is 640 pixels wide.. Otherwise you 'll cause horizontal scrolling which is a pain!!

I've got the EPS as well, but they didn't have the PermaStar finish at the time. Looks great - and lots easier to keep clean. What's the cost on that puppy (uh, not the last pic)?

Great looking engine! (You might want to size the pics a little smaller next time).

I like your dog too. You can even see the blood from his latest victim!

In a way yes and no. I currently have three Vettes but I always try to get the most for my money, because I work hard for it. Correction, I sit around alot in order to get my money sometimes it is really boring, but
I cannot complain. I started getting back into Vettes because I had to stop spending all of my money on guns and there are not any good places to shoot over here anymore, that I know of. Anyway heres the breakdown:
Edelbrock Permastar intake $200.00
Edelbrock 600 cfm carb $266.00
Carb studs $3.61
ARP Intake Manifold 6-point polished stainless steel bolt kit $22.00
Edelbrock Air cleaner $30.00
Edelbrock Fuel Line Kit $ 40.00
Chrome throttle bracket $26.00
Chrome intake pipe plugs $8.00
Chrome return spring kit $5.49
Chrome Power Brake Master Cylinder $125.00
Intake manifold gasket set $15.00
Shipping $56.00
R/R of all parts $240.00
Also, thanks for the heads up info about the air cleaner filament stuff.
Vette runs great, very responsive and when I start to open it up I can really here the intake air sucking it and the secondarys opening up.
I totally think it was worth it.
Dog was free from a friend

Once again sorry about the big pics.

If I remember correctly it was a Spectre or some generic brand. It was located in the chrome parts section of my local Checkers auto store.
Good luck.
