Default Help with proper plug gap

OK, I'm havin trouble doin searches tonight for some reason and I need some help with spark plug gaps.

I'm running a 1979 Corvette, with an L-48 and automatic transmisson. I've added an MSD-6AL with 3 step and all the goodies. I'm also running MSD wires and A/C Rapid-Fire spark plugs.

I'm running stock pistons and heads. I changed the intake and cam to Edelbrock Performers. And my carb has been shined up by LARS, the carb whizzard!

So what should I gap my plugs at for the best 1/4 mile performance

Thanks for the help.

Hmmm, well does .050 sound like the proper gap? Or with the MSD should be lookin like .055 or .060

I'd say .050 is a good amount. Stock HEI was .045, except the earlyest years where they were .060. Problem with .060 is the spark would take the path of least resistance, and that was often thru the rotor to the distributor shaft! Joe
PS with a stock L48 the spark demands aren't enough to worry about .005 gap differences.
