Rubber ends on springs

Rubber ends on springs
Want to see who thinks putting a rubber heater hose around the ends of the springs I'm cutting might stop any noise from hitting big potholes on the road. Did it on the coil-overs and made no difference but re-installing the stock springs.

Dave, Even with the stock SB coils cut down, you should never
be able to unload the spring fully. Those things are soft and LONG.
ps - you are replacing the missing upper Aarm bumpers, right ?
That should limit it even further.

Personally I like the rubber isolators at the end of the springs. I use rubber spacers from VBP that I cut down so that they are more of an isolator than a spring. Not sure if a rubber hose would hold up?

Did you give up on the semi-coilovers? Sorry to hear of all your problems. I have the same setup but it's all QA1's and I have no issues. My ride height is at 27" up front w/about an 1" to an 1-1/2" of threads under the jam nuts so I could go lower. If I remember correctly you were looking for 26.5" right?

Yep me and Eric from Speed Direct were e-mailing the last few weeks and we went thru every possible cause to no avail. I'll be putting back the original springs - 3/4 coil with Blisteins next weekend and if the noise disappears I know it was the coil-overs. There is still a 2% chance it's the A-arms but I doubt it.
