Backfiring 72 Vette
I installed headers and chambered exhaust system. Car runs down the rosd real nice and sounds good. My problem starts when I lift off the gas the engine starts backfiring out the exhaust pipes. Vaccum leak?? I have retarded and advanced the timing.Didn't help.... Set valves no help... Any thoughts.

Same thing on my 76
I recently bought a 76 with a chambered exhaust and have the exact same issue. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this problem. When I let off the gas it sounds like someone is setting off a chain of firecrackers. I really don't mind it too much but it might draw more attention than I want from the boys in blue.
