Was getting ready to wash it for the Vintage Grand Prix tomorrow, and the reverse interlock is not clicking out. So I have reverse and neutral. That's it.

I had mine stuck in 3rd once Jay. Happened when I had the Vette out in cold January. Shifter and linkage were cold and got all jammed up. I jacked the car up and loosened the shifter rods at the tranny. I think they somehow got jammed on a down shift. I loosened wiggled the rods around and re-tightened.

Oh, after you loosen them, try to put the shifter into neutral. Then the rod ends should point straight up and the reverse lever is pointed to the back(I think).
Sounds like the 1-2 gate is out of alignment and is stopping the shifter from returning to the forward gears. It may be that you snatched reverse and the 1-2 lever hooked up with it not allowing the shifter to return.
Check the 1-2 lever on the box to see if it is fully in the neutral position. The shifter rod may have bent and while 1-2 is in neutral on the box the shifter gate is a little off stopping the shifter returning to the 1-2 gate.
The reverse lock out just stops the lever moving into the reverse gate. When you return to the 1-2 gate it drops back to it's normal position. Can't see how it would cause this problem.
Oh, and check you haven't lost one of the shifter mounting bolts. If the shifter can rotate around only one of the bolts it would cause these symptoms.
Probably a good idea to realign the whole shifter once you find the problem.
