stinger hood?

stinger hood?
I am pretty sure im picking up the stinger hood for my 80, but I want to know if the scoop is actually functional, or will it jsut make my car look better. Also i am ordering the one piece acrylic top from thompson, was wondering what people who have it think of it.

As for the stinger hood. Its basically a cowl induction hood. Theres no device to seperate or ram air through it. I have some shots of mine while painting somewhere on my website.

I did my own, not quite finished yet. Purchased a used hood for 175 duckies and a stinger scoop for another 65. Cut a hole in the hood...lets the hot air out and the cool in. Have the glass work done resin and cloth ran me 20...
just need to finish wet sanding the primer and paint......
thinking of doing some type of stars and stripes thing on it.

I was at a car show on saturday with plenty of vettes, and I was surprised to see that a lot of the hoods were non-functional. I don't know if those were aftermarket, but almost none had any function. I suppose you could cut it out yourself, and then you have a functional stinger hood.
