Well I tried to press out my u-joints. The problems I think that htey are original and it is not working. Does any one know of a place in Virginia beach that can press u-joints.
thanks

NO! don't use a hammer.. Half shaft joints can be a real pia. Cut the cross out with a die grinder and they will come apart very easy. Replace them with Spice solid U-joints. Half shafts are not like drive shafts, they are hard on U joints and when one fails it will ruin you day or week or as another member said maybe even a mounth. NO
Buy the Halfshaft Companion Flange. It mounts up to your trailing arm side of the halfshaft to prevent yoke distortion during U-joint removal.
Ive got a BRAND NEW one, never used, for sale $25 and its yours. Free shipping in the USofA!! There $35 new if I remember correctly. My 82 didnt need it as the U-joints have straps on both ends.

Well This is all good. I will be doing mine shortly as I'm one good burnout away from a disaster. But I'm afraid it's going to become one of those "As long as I'm there projects." that winds up costing $1500.00 dollars or more.
