Looking at his piston, i see no way that an o-ring can expand on retraction. i have been in the hydraulic business for the last 27 years and it seems he is feeding someone a line of b.s.
VBP is awesome. When I placed my first order with them they asked if I was a CF member. I said no, but why do you ask? They told me CF members get a 10% discount. While I had them on the phone I came here and signed up- instant 10% discount they gave me, but the real value was in all the awesome things I have learned since they pointed me this direction!
Seeing things like this really makes me happy I gave them and not some other place my hard earned money and I know where I will be buying my parts for the fall rear-suspension rebuild!
This guy has been ripping people off for years! I know of no one that actually received what they ask for. When parts actually ship, some folks even got USED rusty parts!
Something about Florida law (can these people do anything right?) allows a business to close/go bankrupt one day and re-open the next with a new name like nothing happened, and the BBB seems to be powerless to stop it. GRRRRR!
I have said this a 1000's times Always Always deal with the big local guys like autozone or at the least with a local rebuilder. The stock vette brakes are awsome if properly rebuilt and installed you can easily get 6 to 10 years of service.
Way to go VBP!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know where i will go if i have any problems with my brakes.
TTT--and keep it there until everybody has a chance to read this and realize what a super vendor this is--I would rather not see this post bumped for "whats your favorite tune while taking a left turn?" post. This is unheard of service and quite an act of kindness---Well done Vette Brakes
Tony all I can say is OUTSTANDING. I also sent a link of this thread to the co. to let them know that the vette community will be aware of what is going on.
And they will also see what a great company like VB with Tony can and will do for people.
New name, same company, formerly the infamous "FLORIDA CALIPER MANUFACTURERS INC." Apparently they still operate the same. Sorry you got bent over but don't expect any legit business practices from them. Don't expect any help from any consumer protection agencies either. Hopefully you used a credit card. That's the only way I got my $$$ back. I even contacted the local police in Delray Beach in addition to the postal inspector, BBB and others I can't recall now. None of them did squat. I believe I was instrumental in their changing their name to "VETTE PARTS ONLINE". I sent a message to every Corvette club and posted on every Corvette related board and forum I could find warning them not to deal with them. That was about 3-4 years ago.
Special o'ring caliper 2000 my azz. Should have gone to VB&P to begin with. Tony and the chick in the office ( I forget her name ) are awesome. Bought ALL my suspension and brake stuff from them
I KNEW I was doing the right thing when I joined this exceptionally fine group of Corvetters and their exceptionally fine group of sponsors and vendors. That's why I ALWAYS use forum vendors for all my Vette needs. So, do I get any good discounts beyond the normal Corvette Forum great discounts already offered? Okay, fine - I'll just take the normal discount. Thank you sir, can I have another?
Jay M,
I have read your story and we here at Vette Brakes & Products are going to help you out. We will ship you a set of our PATENTED O-Ring Calipers tomorrow if you want. Corvette Forum Members account for a large portion of our business and we hate to see you in this kind of a situation. We will give you a very special price so you can get your Vette back on the road where it belongs. CF members, this is for Jay only due to special circumstances.
