Well here is a pair of 800X600 jpg's of my #2 body mounts...
What kind of trouble is the rest of my frame likely to be in?
Your frame many be ok, but you have rust problems on the bird cage. What does the rest of the bird cage look like? especially the windshield frame?
Pull the inspection plates off for the #3 body mounts. Post some photos.
I presume you've looked at #1 and #4, what do they look like? #4 (both sides) had rusted/worn through the attachment location on my 1980 (frame). I had to weld some new mounts to the frame.
From the photos, don't be surprised if the cage nuts (on the frame) spin when you try to remove the #2 and #3 body mount bolts.
Yup you have birdcage problems.... hopefully your frame is ok.
From the looks of it, meaning the way the rot is I'd bet your windshield frame and door pillars are in rough shape.... Mine looked that way before I tore it down.
Mine looked even worse. The rocker channels were just a big hole. The rest of the bird cage was fine. That is the area that water collects so it rusts. You still will need to check out the rest of the cage to be sure.
How do I go about checking out the rest of the birdcage? -- I guess my problem is I don't really understand what that is I'm probably going to get to the #3 passenger side tonigt... I'll try to get some more images of everthing.
Hey, everything is fixable -- you only need money (anyone got some to spare?)

The bird cage is the metal frame that supports the cabin area. There is a pic of it on my cardomain web page. You can see some of the rocker channels if you look up between the body and the frame. You can look up inside the door post to see how it looks up to the wind shield frame. Look carefully around the wid shield to see signs of rust there.
