put 200 miles on my car since friday night.. and since then I've gone through 4 gallons of antifreeze tracking a leak. I've thrown two belts. and boiled my power steering pump resevoir.
I have fixed my coolant leak,
put a new belt on, adjusted the alt bracket
yanked the power steering belt off
with that said, its so nice to be able to drive the car on the highway, and not worry about overheating. but damn do i miss power steering
Boiling in the reservior ? Holy Crappolie !! Sounds like you
have some type of blockage somewhere, and you're spending
way too much time up at 5000RPM.
Sounds good, though. You get to enjoy yours, at least for part of the summer.
nice job corey. maybe someday soon i will post some pictures of my lifetime project (58). the power steering problem sounds like blockage in the lines, or a bad pump.. good luck..thx, jim....

I agree. Check the fluid level again, if you haven't already and make sure its up to the full line. If its not full, then I would think you have just aerated the fluid, top it off. If it is full, then I would suspect a blockage somewhere.
I have mine all back together just no insurance to cover it properly yet. Working on that though.
When I put my new AGR pump on they made a big big deal about bleeding the system. They said that before the pump was started to jack the front off the ground and turn the wheel lock to lock at least 15 times. I did that and didn't have a problem. BTW, if you need a new pump I highly recommend the AGR pump. It's a very nice piece and until I installed it I never really had power steering. Nice people to talk with too.
