I recently purchased a 1970 Convetible with P225/70R15 tires on it that need replacement. Can I replace these with P235/70R15 tires?
The wheels are stock 8" rallye wheels and the suspension consists of a composite rear spring, polyurethane bushings, front & rear sway bars, and KYB gas shocks.
When I had my 1970, I had 245/60 front and 275/60 rear. That really looked nice and they were all mounted on 15X8 Rally's. The tires never rubbed front or rear and I never had to relocate anything. Now on my 75 Vert, I run 255/60 all the way around. When I first put them on, I had no rubs whatsoever... and they look very nice, however, since I have replaced the PS hoses, the tire slightly rubs on them...(they were a bit bigger than the originals..(figures).. I will do some re-adjusting to that soon. Anyway, those are some options for you also.
I have 235/60 BFG Radial TA tires on my factory rallye wheels and they look nice, but a 245/60 fits well also and gives you a little more height and width.
