Default Door Striker

I am in the process of changing the door strikers. Wanting to know if the nut that the striker bolt screws into will fall down into the body when removed or will it stay in view.

Mine stayed in place when I removed it. I used some needle nose pliars after tilting the bolt to access the nut to hold it in place, just in case. It stayed in place fairly well for me. I don't know if it was supposed to stay there, but mine did.

It's a captured nut so it will stay in place.
