STARS!!!
The number and quantity of stars is determined by your post counts. The update is NOT automatic but is done once or twice a week.
The following is the current post vs. star schedule.
< 20 = 1 Star, silver
20 to 500 = 2 Stars, blue
500 to 1000= 3 Stars, gold
1000 to 2000 = 4 Stars, purple
2000 to 3000 = 5 Stars, green
3000 to 4000 = 5 Stars, combo - green, purple
4000 to 5000 = 5 Stars, combo - gold, purple
5000 to 6000 = 6 Stars, combo - purple blue
6000 to 10000 = 8 Stars, combo - purple, green, blue
> 10000 = 9 Stars, red, white blue

Thanks for the clarification. I really hadn't been sleeping well lately, wondering about this.
I couldn't find a winky face so I borrowed one from the TexAgs.com forum:

It is nice to know what everything means. I looked all over the site to learn. Think they can put info into FAQ.

That's not entirely accurate
There is at least one member level between Junior and Senior. I know because I posted my 50th earlier today and am now a "CF Member". At least I'm no longer junior.
